OSHA Launches Workplace Fall Awareness Program

Fall-related injuries current leading cause of workplace fatalities.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has kicked off a new national program to bring awareness to falls in the workplace. Fall-related injuries are the most frequently cited workplace violation in the construction industry. They are also the leading cause of fatalities in the workplace, making up 13% of all fatal workplace injuries in 2021.

“This national emphasis program aligns all of OSHA’s fall protection resources to combat one of the most preventable and significant causes of workplace fatalities,” said Assistant Secretary for Occupational Safety and Health Doug Parker. “Working together, OSHA and employers in all industries can make lasting changes to improve worker safety and save lives.”
